    Act 93 Administrative Position / 260-day

    Annual Salary:

    DRAFT POSITION DESCRIPTION **Summary** Provide leadership in identifying, assessing, and managing technology needs for the school system to the Superintendent and other stakeholders.

    Focus on the school district innovation through technology.

    Direct, coordinate, supervise, facilitate, or perform all tasks and elements needed to effect comprehensive integration of appropriate technology into every facet of operations.

    Contribute to the infusion of educational technology into classrooms, libraries/media centers and offices by providing highly motivating, full-time, professional leadership in all areas of technology planning and technology resource management.


    Minimum Qualifications:
    Bachelor's Degree in Technology.
    Ten (10) years-experience in K-12 education or technology related field.
    Demonstrated professional experience in a technology leadership role.
    Primary Responsibilities


    The Director of Information Technology shall have direct oversight responsibilities in the areas of: District-wide Technology support and assistance; materials procurement, inventory, long-term technology planning and implementation; maintenance; systems troubleshooting, and network administration.

    Leadership
    Supervise assigned Information Technology operations and staff, including but not limited to Technology Support Specialists and Network Systems Administrator.
    Work cooperatively with the administration and other school personnel in planning and implementing educational, administrative, and telecommunications technologies.
    Assist the administration with the development and implementation of the district's technology plan.
    Coordinate hardware and software procurement and implementation to help meet district objectives and increase productivity for staff and students.
    Manage Web site setup and maintenance.
    Work with district staff to evaluate current technology programs and make recommendations for continual growth.
    Develop annual district technology budget in collaboration with district administrators.

    Prepare and submit, or assist in the preparation of, various technology reports as required by the PDE or other agencies.

    Provide periodic technology reports or updates to administrators and the Board of School Directors.

    Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and best practices related to cybersecurity and data privacy by implementing proper controls that safeguard sensitive information and mitigate risks.

    Serve as a liaison between the school and other agencies in matters related to cybersecurity, computer, and telecommunications technology.
    Disseminate to staff information pertaining to computer technology.

    Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in educational technology, conducting research, participating in professional networks, and recommending innovative solutions to enhance the district's technology infrastructure and services.

    Determine work requirements, priorities, and best use of resources for scheduled operations as well as during unplanned incidents.
    Coordinate arrangements for third party service personnel to ensure maximum up-time of all equipment.

    Supervise and participate in the study of operations and procedures, and recommend changes to improve methods, procedures, service levels, and operational efficiency.

    Develop and implement a comprehensive technology plan aligned with the district's educational goals and objectives.
    Tech Support and Assistance
    Coordinate training and assistance to teachers and other building staff in the day-to-day use of computers and software.
    Manage and maintain an IT ticketing / change management system to manage support requests.
    Notify appropriate personn l of problems or changes to operational schedules or service levels.

    Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.

    Materials Procurement, Inventory, and Maintenance
    Manage the purchasing and maintenance of the district's equipment, maintain inventories, and evaluate maintenance and other services.
    Assist district administration with the selection, purchase, and maintenance of computer-related hardware and software.
    Work district administration to plan, acquire, and deploy hardware, software, and network communications systems.
    Coordinate the distribution of computer, network and communications hardware and software in the district.
    Maintain an inventory of computer-related hardware, software, and web applications purchased by the district.
    Maintain a catalog of all applications and stored data types for all applications used across the district.
    Maintain configuration management inventory of computer-related hardware assigned to individual staff or buildings.
    Ensure compliance with all software user license agreements to maintain seamless operations.
    Maintain, procure and manage district site licenses.
    Diagnose malfunctions and arrange procedures for the maintenance of equipment and networks.
    Arrange for the repair and maintenance of computer and telecommunications equipment.
    Systems/Networks Administration
    Oversee the administration of local area networks, district-wide servers, sanctioned district web applications, Internet content filter, and network security.

    Coordinate the Internet services and WAN connection between the district and Service providers outside the district network, to serve both the educational and administrative systems.

    Manage the security of District Data center and assume direct and delegated management responsibility during emergencies.
    Work with appropriate staff, committees, etc. to develop and procure technologically related equipment to meet district educational objectives.
    Other Duties
    Assist the District with any other duties that are deemed necessary to maintain and sustain District Technology infrastructure.
    Evaluation
    Performance in this position will be evaluated by the Superintendent in accordance with the Act 93 agreement.
