SALARY:
$5,764.00 to $7,024.00 Monthly (Range 81)


$750 New Hire Incentive
(One-time payment, upon completion of six-month probation, if start date is 6/30/2024 or prior)

The Projects & Activities Technician coordinates the presentation of countywide student events, activities, and awards ceremonies. This position also develops and implements strategies to support these large events within the established guidelines, timeframes, and budget.

  • Develops timelines and strategies, in accordance with state guidelines and requirements, for the implementation of assigned countywide student events and activities;
  • Organizes the activities of students, coaches, volunteers, parents, district staff and others participating or supporting countywide student events and activities;
  • Coordinates facilities, food service, audio/visual equipment, travel and related support services for assigned events;
  • Creates brochures, fliers, invitations, presentations, meeting agendas, event programs and other informational and promotional materials;
  • Maintains event budgets;
  • Prepares correspondence, forms, contracts, databases, invoices, transactions;
  • Attends and/or assists in conducting meetings;
  • Maintains a flexible calendar due to evening and weekend events;
  • Researches possible funding/donation sources.

Experience organizing and facilitating workshops, events or programs; designing presentations and programs utilizing graphic design and database software programs; preparing various forms of correspondence including reports, and minutes and use of mail merge;

Knowledge of general office procedures and fiscal processes; English grammar and usage; budgeting, billing and invoicing processes;

Ability to exercise sound judgment, meet established timelines, work accurately and independently, communicate effectively in verbal and written form, work effectively with a variety of individuals and groups, maintain accurate records, successfully obtain volunteers to assist in event activities; work varied hours/days at multiple locations;

Physical Abilities include sitting and standing for extended periods of time, talking/hearing, near and far visual acuity, field of vision, color vision, fine manual dexterity.

  • Three (3) years experience coordinating and/or facilitating educational student events or workshops in a school district or County Office of Education;
  • Three (3) years experience monitoring budgets;
  • Two (2) years experience creating brochures/fliers;
  • Possession of a high school diploma (or its equivalency) or higher or possession of a GED.
  • Experience using forms of multimedia;
  • Experience working/volunteering at school sites or school events;
  • Experience overseeing statewide educational projects and activities.
