- High School diploma
- Knowledge of the State BSIP system is preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Considerable knowledge of Bookkeeping/Accounting procedures
- Ability to work independently without close supervision and show much initiative and judgment in prioritizing and organizing work assignments to meet established deadlines
- Ability to resolve problem situations
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with principals, assistant principals, bus drivers, and transportation staff
- Strong oral and written skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Perform multiple tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills to meet changing job conditions
- Knowledge of operating standard office equipment
- Class B CDL with P & S endorsements (recommended)
- Process daily work orders for vehicle repairs and maintenance using the state BSIP system
- Monitor budget expenditures
- General accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and fixed assets
- Prepare Purchase Orders and submit invoices for payment in accordance with district policies and procedures
- Reconcile invoices, credit memos & monthly billing statements from vendors
- Assist in maintaining of programs and components which provide vital information used by the department
- Exporting and importing timesheets for bus drivers
- Export daily fuel usage
- Prepare invoices for fuel usage/mileage & vehicle maintenance, and repairs for various departments for the service and repair of vehicles
- Assist Shop Supervisor to help maintain an accurate inventory of repair parts
- Prepare yearly inventory audit and reconcile
- Complete necessary monthly and annual reports as directed by Coordinator and DPI
- Prepare a variety of correspondence, reports, and other materials to document activities, providing written references and convey information
- Manage activity bus fleet, including scheduling, invoicing, and posting of payments
- Use the state surplus system to log recycled materials
- Supports Coordinator and department staff by assisting with administrative functions
- Must be able to perform heavy work exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to lift objects
- Performs other related work as required or assigned by the Transportation Coordinator

The salary for this position is based upon the successful applicant's years of service in the NC State Retirement System in the same or similar position.
For current Lincoln County School employees, this position will be paid according to the current Lincoln County Schools' pay scale.
