BestCo is known industry-wide as a leading developer and marketer of innovative, consumer health care products for retailers and marketers of OTC drug products and dietary supplements. BestCo specializes in manufacturing solid dose lozenges, soft chews, and other confectionery-based delivery forms of consumer healthcare products for both private label and contract manufacturing partners. BestCo combines nearly a centurys worth of confectionery experience with emerging consumer healthcare insights to create unique products for our customers. BestCo strives to be a pioneer and innovator in the field of confectionery delivery forms of OTC drugs and dietary supplements.

**BestCo is currently searching for a Indirect Buyer to be located at our Mooresville, North Carolina facility.**

**POSITION SUMMARY:**

The Indirect Buyer is responsible for developing and implementing global / regional sourcing strategies across multiple indirect spend categories, identifying cost savings opportunities, driving change, and implementing industry best practices to support a best in class Procurement function.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**

Defines the strategy and vision of indirect spend categories and related programs ensuring strategic alignment and business support functions, accountable for building strong and effective relationships with internal stakeholders.

Manages corporate indirect order programs serving regional locations. Targets spend categories, initiates corporate agreements, builds supplier relationships, and negotiates industry competitive pricing models, best practices, service levels and support for our internal customers. Lead negotiations.

Provides input and/or authors policies and procedures for related programs.

May outsource & manage vendors to focus on global/regional distribution.

Identifies BestCos ongoing needs for the purpose of seeking and analyzing competitive bids, selecting, and implementing vendors. Monitors and reports on vendor performance.

Assists with support and communication of additional programs as appropriate.

May manage the operational integration of third-party services.

Process purchase requisitions for individual spot buys

Manage and track purchases including performance to budget

Ensure suppliers are paid within agreed upon payment terms

Expedite purchases when critical due dates are required

Participate in Project Team meetings as required

Support BestCo cost savings goals for indirect purchases

**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:**

This position does not have any direct reports.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:**

Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain or management

or

Bachelors degree in another field with a minimum of two years of experience in procurement or supply chain.

Demonstrated track record of identifying and delivering cost saving opportunities throughout the business

Demonstrated leadership, drive, and ambition

Experience in procurement methods and data analysis

Experience with ERP systems

Intermediate level proficiency in MS Office software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:**

Project management experience

Experience negotiating with vendors and suppliers

Prior experience with M2K or SAP software
