We currently have an exciting opportunity as a Buyer Student. This role is based in our Charlotte Distribution Centre.

The Buyer Student will assist in implementing purchases consistent with parameters set out by the budgetary and forecasting exercises to support business needs in addition to seeing opportunities and implementing initiatives to improve site efficiencies. Respond to the needs for procurement of goods and services to support the site's operations and productivity.

Principal responsibilities:

• Responsible for assisting with site purchasing activities and indirect items.
• Assist with PO Management, Inventory Management & Supplier Payments.
• Find opportunities to increase site efficiencies.
• Monitor supplier performance specifically delivery dates and keep Plants abreast of potential supply chain risks.
• Assist with procurement of indirect items (Industrial, Safety & Janitorial Supplies, Waste Management, Oils & Lubricants) as requested.
• Monitor KANBAN/Min-Max to lead inventory levels.

Knowledge and skill requirements:

• Currently enrolled in college/university studying Supply Chain Management or Business Administration.
• Proficient user of Excel/Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of sourcing & procurement techniques.
• Experience using various MRP/ERP systems.
• Excellent negotiation and teamwork skills.
• Well-developed organization and prioritization skills.
• Strong analytical, decision-making & problem-solving skills.
