    **Sr. Manager, Inventory & Cost Accounting**

    Cytokinetics is a late-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing and commercializing next-in-class muscle activators and best-in-class muscle inhibitors as potential treatments for debilitating diseases in which muscle performance is compromised and/or declining.     As our Sr. Manager, Inventory & Cost Accounting, your responsible for the accounting and reporting processes to ensure the accuracy and completeness of inventory and gross margin, including but not limited to cost of goods sold, shrink, scrap, warranty, rebates, and other reserves. You will be a hands-on leader in this role, instrumental in developing and administering effective and efficient inventory accounting processes and controls, while ensuring best practice operations and continuous improvement in accuracy and efficiency. This position is also responsible for leveraging data to produce and validate valuable comprehensive analyses, business insights and internal reporting for management. This role is highly cross-functional and requires collaboration and significant partnership with a wide variety of teams across the business including IT, operations, logistics and central purchasing.

    **Responsibilities**

    Responsible for all accounting related to Inventory, Cost Accounting and Cost of Goods Sold

    Oversight of GL accounting; including monthly close, balance sheet reconciliations, reserves and financial reporting related to inventory and gross margin. Manage cost accounting related to scrap, bills of material, LCM, standard costing, etc.

    Participate in the implementation of Oracle supply chain and inventory modules. Design and implement inventory costing and inventory management processes utilizing Oracle and ensuring compliance with US GAAP

    Manage the budget and forecasting process for inventory and cost of goods sold. Provide senior management effective analysis of inventory and COGS actual results, budget development and variance reporting.

    Work collaboratively with cross-functional leaders, troubleshoot issues impacting inventory balance/valuation and ensure adherence to accounting policies and internal controls.

    Prepare inventory records and cost data in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SOX internal control requirements. Maintain ownership of key controls related to corporate accounts and processes; create SOX narratives and perform all assigned controls to ensure a strong control environment.

    Provide internal and external auditors with requested documentation on a timely basis.

    **Qualifications**

    Bachelor's degree in Accounting

    10+ years Accounting experience with exposure to the medical device, life sciences, manufacturing or high technology product industries

    Significant hands-on experience in inventory and cost of goods sold with an ERP system

    Demonstrated ability to identify problems, develop solutions, and implement successful and maintainable process changes that improve accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness

    Strong communicator in both verbal and written communications

    Must excel in a fast-paced start-up type environment

    Supervisory / Management experience is a plus

    The Director will work closely with and report to the Senior Vice President of Business Development and will be a key member on a team focused on business development activities.

    **Responsibilities**

    Responsible for leading and executing all aspects of a range of business development initiatives (e.g., collaborations, in-licensing, etc.) including but not limited to:

    Closely coordinating with senior staff and advisors across multiple functional areas, acting as a key contributor in the development and execution of the companys partnering/licensing strategies

    Leveraging strong internal relationships and external network to drive the execution of initiatives

    Identifying and evaluating potential partnering/licensing opportunities

    Preparing for and conducting due diligence

    Leading or supporting the deal teams development, review, and negotiation of term sheets and contracts, working with relevant stakeholders to develop proposals, to solicit and incorporate feedback, and to track and develop solutions to deal issues

    Generating and delivering impactful presentations to senior management and key decision-makers

    Working collaboratively with Alliance Management

    **Qualifications**

    A minimum of 10 years of biopharma business development experience required.

    Advanced degree (e.g., M.B.A., J.D., Ph.D., etc.) with a relevant technical degree preferred.

    Track record of productive participation and success in a business development role, with an appreciation of all stages of pharmaceutical drug research, development, and commercialization.

    Regional experience (Asia, Europe) is a plus.

    Technical ability to understand pipeline/portfolio at the company and potential partners.

    Ability to summarize or simplify complex concepts and to think on your feet.

    Experience with terms development and successful negotiation of co-development, commercialization and regional licensing agreements.

    Excellent analytical capabilities (e.g., to identify/evaluate opportunities, deal comparables, etc
