    Overview:

    Our client is the leader in the development of innovative multiomics methods and a collaborator with academic and biopharma partners is seeking a Research and Development Manager will be instrumental in overseeing daily R&D operations, ensuring projects are executed effectively and align with our high standards of scientific rigor and operational excellence.


    Responsibilities:

    Split evenly between laboratory and office settings, with responsibilities including managing project timelines, delegating tasks, and spearheading technical discussions essential to internal and external development projects.

    Oversee and coordinate the daily activities of the R&D team, ensuring projects are executed efficiently and objectives are met within timelines.

    Delegate project tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring clear communication across the team.

    Lead discussions on project direction, experimental design, and innovation within the scope of sequencing genetics, biopharma, and molecular biology.

    Monitor and evaluate project progress, providing technical guidance and support to the R&D team as needed.

    Contribute to the development and writing of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), research reports, validation documents, and presentation materials for quarterly R&D meetings.

    Maintain and enhance technical skills and knowledge within the team, particularly in bioinformatics strategies and project management techniques.
    Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and quality standards in the laboratory setting.

    Facilitate professional development and training of team members to ensure high levels of competence and performance in R&D processes.


    Requirements:

    Master's degree in life sciences, molecular biology, or related field with 5 to 7 years of relevant industry experience.

    Proven experience in managing R&D projects in molecular biology, genomics and transcriptomics, and other life sciences applications.
    Exposure to bioinformatics strategies and techniques.
    Working knowledge of R, python, and Linux OS.
    Practical knowledge of project management principles and practices.
    Capable of effective team leadership and project delegation.
    Strong background in DNA and RNA biology, molecular laboratory techniques, Next Generation Sequencing.

    Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
    PhD in a life science field with at least two years of relevant industry experience.
    Advanced understanding of molecular biology techniques and applications in R&D.
    Demonstrated ability in technical writing and the preparation of scientific presentations.
    Experience with interdepartmental collaboration and communication.

    Additional Requirements Willingness to travel up to 10% to attend conferences, scientific sessions, and other professional development opportunities.
