Summary
The Fiberglass Department Supervisor will lead a team in fabricating and manufacturing fiberglass components for an array of projects.

This position demands a combination of leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and quality in a fast-paced, deadline-drive, creative environment.


COST is a theme construction company that fabricates and manufactures custom creative projects for museums, theme and water parks, aquariums, zoological exhibits, and other unique clients.

Location:
Jackson, WI


Shift:
M - TH; 6:00am - 6:30pm & F 6:00 AM-4:30PM; Currently mandatory 58 hour weeks. Saturday hours available in leu of 12 hour shifts. Mandatory over time is not permanent schedule but is effective until further notice. Standard schedule is a 40 hour work week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the fiberglass fabrication department, ensuring adherence to project schedules and quality standards specific to the theme construction industry.
  • Mentor, coach, and manage a skilled team, fostering a culture of professionalism and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct quality inspections of fiberglass constructions, ensuring alignment with artistic vision and structural integrity.
  • Manage project timelines, ensuring efficient workflow and meeting client deadlines.
  • Coordinate with the Art Director to achieve aesthetic excellence while maintaining practical and safe construction practices.
  • Coordinate with production directors and external vendors to resolve operational challenges promptly.
  • Regularly review and optimize fabrication processes and techniques for enhanced efficiency and quality.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory standards.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

Knowledge and Skill

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within the theme construction or related industry.
  • Strong understanding of fiberglass fabrication techniques.
  • Effective leadership and team management skills; ability to motivate while promoting and implementing organizational policies and procedures.
  • Strong reasoning skills to break down problems and identify solutions.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and related equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • High school diploma or GED; relevant work experience (4+ years) preferred.
  • Able to read, interpret and understand documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, procedure manuals and blueprints.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet navigation.

Physical Demands

  • Use hands to handle or feel; stand; walk; climb or balance; stop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear.
  • Lift 70 lbs. floor to waist; lift 90 lbs. waist to chest; lift 25 lbs. chest to overhead; carry 50 lbs. over a distance of 50 ft.; push a 100 lbs. wheeled cart over a distance of 100 ft.; and drag 50 lbs. over a distance of 100 ft.

Work Environment

  • Exposed to typical noises and smells associated with the production environment, such as exposure to fumes or airborne particles and production machinery. Noise level is moderate to loud.
