    Description

    Responsibilities:

    • The PSM Engineer will conduct process hazard analyses (PHA), including HAZOP, What-If, and other relevant methodologies, to identify and evaluate potential hazards associated with chemical processes.
    • Develop and maintain process safety management (PSM) programs in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., OSHA Process Safety Management, EPA Risk Management Program).
    • Perform risk assessments and quantitative risk analysis (QRA) to prioritize safety improvements and allocate resources effectively.
    • Review and approve process design changes, management of change (MOC) requests, and new projects to ensure compliance with process safety requirements.
    • Provide technical expertise and support to resolve process safety issues, incidents, and near-misses, including conducting root cause analyses (RCA) and implementing corrective actions.
    • Stay current with emerging process safety technologies, regulations, and best practices, and proactively apply relevant advancements to enhance safety performance.

    Requirements

    • The PSM Engineer must have a BS degree in chemical engineering or related engineering major.
    • 5+ years of experience in process safety engineering within the chemical manufacturing industry (mandatory).
    • Strong understanding of process safety regulations and standards.
    • Proficiency in process safety tools and techniques, including PHA, LOPA, SIL determination, and consequence modeling software.
    • Professional certifications such as Certified Process Safety Professional (CCPSC) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) are a plus.
    • Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
