The Salvation Army (TSA) Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) offers a no-fee program to support individuals through their rehabilitation journey. Our organization values the hard work and dedication of our employees in maintaining effective programs.
ABOUT OUR OPERATIONS TEAM
Be part of The Salvation Army's Operations Team and contribute to serving our local community at the San Bernardino Distribution Center. Work together to uphold our commitment to "Do The Most Good" for the Adult Rehabilitation Program participants.
POSITION OBJECTIVES:
- Foster a positive and supportive environment for Beneficiaries (ARC program participants) through collaboration with program staff.
- Lead and oversee a team of Drivers, including recruiting, training, and scheduling.
- Strategize and enhance delivery routes for efficient and timely transportation of goods.
- Manage the organization's fleet of vehicles, including maintenance and compliance with safety standards.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and organizational policies for a secure work environment.
EMPLOYEE BENEFITS OFFERED
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass MVR report required
- Experience leading, coaching, and motivating teams
- Strong communication skills with all stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Working knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
- Understanding of Safety Rules for Dock and Transportation
- Minimum 5 years experience in light industrial, transportation, or operations
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Agile to perform various physical tasks and operate vehicles and equipment
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working outdoors occasionally
- Proficient in operating forklifts and other machinery
- Ability to handle repetitive motion tasks
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
1. Monitor and optimize driver performance and transportation operations.
2. Manage transportation costs effectively while maintaining service levels.
3. Maintain accurate transportation records and documentation.
4. Coordinate with different departments to ensure seamless operations.
5. Address any transportation-related issues promptly.
6. Collaborate with HR on driver recruitment and training.
7. Create work schedules and oversee payroll compliance.
8. Supervise Drivers/Material Handlers and ensure operational efficiency.
9. Plan and schedule delivery routes for efficiency.
10. Maintain compliance with state and federal laws regarding transportation.
11. Ensure vehicles meet safety standards.
12. Oversee donation operations and donor relations.
13. Review performance reports and provide necessary coaching.
14. Conduct regular team meetings and ensure policy compliance.
15. Approve timecards and ensure wage and hour regulations compliance.
16. Ensure equipment safety and functionality.
17. Uphold safety measures and regulations.
18. Contribute to company culture development.
19. Assume operational responsibilities in the absence of the Operations Manager.
20. Perform other assigned duties as necessary.
