Mountain Transit is hiring for the full-time position of Transportation Operations Supervisor. This job is based in Big Bear.

Transportation Operations Supervisors provide first line supervision for the daily operations of transit service, direct the work of others within established policies and procedures, and troubleshoot common operations problems.

This position requires the employee to assist with behind the wheel training, accident response, discipline, snow chain installation on commercial vehicles, attendance at safety meetings, and scheduling for multiple employees.


This position requires the employee to live within a 30-minute drive of Big Bear Lake, CA.

Wage Range:
$32.00-$48.00


Requirements:


  • Experience in leading, working with, and supervising staff.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a multifaceted environment.
  • Strong problem solving and decisionmaking skills.
  • Experience in utilizing computer programs in Microsoft Suite and quickly learning Mountain Transit specific operational software.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • This position requires frequent driving.
  • This position requires work on holidays and weekends.
  • This position requires frequent commercial bus driving.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of principles and practice of transit operations and related traffic laws, ordinances, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures used in transit operations.

A Pre-Employment physical, drug screen, and background check is required.

  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Must have a current California Driver's License in good standing with experience operating large vehicles.
  • If not currently commercially licensed, must obtain a valid California Commercial within 60 days of hiring.

Experience:


College level course work or training in supervision of business administration and three years of experience in a supervisory position.

Will consider an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.


Pay:
$ $48.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
