JOB SUMMARY

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Physician Assistant to join the Neurology Team in Temple, Texas.

The Physician Assistant plays a crucial role as a licensed non-physician healthcare provider who delivers direct patient care and has prescriptive authority. They work in specialty clinics, specializing in various medical fields such as Neurology, Cardiology, Dermatology, and more.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

Conduct thorough patient examinations and assess their health condition.
Order and evaluate diagnostic tests to determine healthcare needs.
Prescribe appropriate medical treatments and therapies.
Create comprehensive patient treatment plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
Provide guidance to patients and families on health management and medication.
Maintain detailed patient records and initiate referrals when necessary.
Perform specialized procedures as authorized by the supervising physician.
Offer patient care beyond regular hours based on department needs.

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

Knowledge of medical diagnosis and treatment methods.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Strong critical thinking and complex problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in utilizing computers and software applications.
Current Texas Physician Assistant license and BLS certification.

SCHEDULE- Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. No on-call duties or weekend shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION - Graduate of an Accredited Program
EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
Physician Assistant license in Texas is required.
