    The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Software Engineer to join the Boeing Commercial Airlines Modeling & Simulation team located in Seattle, WA.

    This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Commercial Airlines (BCA) and Boeing Test & Evaluation organization.


    The BCA Modeling and Simulation organization is seeking a real time software engineer to join our Flight Deck Modeling & Sim Integration team.

    In this role, you will support development and release of Integrated Aircraft Configurations.


    You will design, implement, and maintain wide variety of software tools that will help system designers to design and run their models in a simulated environment.

    You will work with our group of experienced engineers from Boeing Test and Evaluation, BCA Modeling and Simulation & also Boeing Enterprise Simulation Test and Analysis Framework (BESTAF) as they work to develop requirements and new products for current and future airplane programs .

    Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate and Experienced Software Engineers.

    This position is hybrid.

    This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

    This is at the hiring team's discretion and could potentially change in the future.


    Position Responsibilities:
    Support development and release of IAC (Integrated Aircraft Configurations)
    Develop software applications that will be running at system engineers workstations, labs and possibly cloud environments.
    Develop and maintain various tools that supports Modeling and Simulation tasks

    Work with modeling & simulation engineers to define and develop advanced flight displays and applications in support of various projects and studies.

    Provide support for testing and demonstration sessions.

    This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R.

    120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

    Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
    1+ years' experience working with Linux
    1+ years' knowledge/experience in Modeling and Simulation
    1+ years' experience with C++, C#, Java
    1+ years' experience creating Python scripts

    Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

    3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    Understanding of software development lifecycle
    Demonstrated ability to solve problems
    Work comfortably as a team player
    Expertise with Kubernetes and Docker
    Source Control systems – Gitlab
    Knowledge of airplane systems
    Expertise with cloud-deployed application architectural patterns/designing cloud services [AWS]
    AI/ML
    Technical Writing skills
    Web Technologies


    Typical Education/Experience:
    Associate (Level 2)

    Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g.

    Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g.

    Master)
    In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

    Experienced (level 3)

    Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g.

    Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g.

    PhD, Master's degree +3 years' related work experience)


    Relocation:
    This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility

    Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

    Summary pay range for Associate:
    $90, $123,050.00

    Summary pay range for Experienced:
    $112, $151,800.00
