    Position Overview

    Are you someone with the passion and technical ability to help organizations transition to cloud technologies?     Join our team at RapidScale and become a key technical player in assisting companies with their shift to AWS and Azure.

    In this role, you will primarily serve as an engineer in project-based interactions with clients, focusing on deploying cloud environments according to established architectures, aiding clients in application integration, and supporting them until their go-live milestones.


    Additionally, Cloud Systems Engineers may contribute to design and review processes, engage in select pre-sales discussions as subject matter experts, and partake in internal DevOps projects.

    The CSE is expected to be a thought leader at RapidScale, possessing in-depth knowledge of our cloud services and the industry, including:

    - Cloud Computing on Azure
    - Azure migrations
    - Professional Services and Consulting engagements
    - Security/Compliance Services
    - Managed Cloud Services
    - Automation/DevOps

    In this crucial position, you will not only assist us in accomplishing these objectives for our clients but also contribute significantly to RapidScale's mission to achieve ambitious growth targets.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities


    Engage in diverse client projects, including greenfield deployments, cloud migrations, app modernization, containers, and tailored solutions to meet client needs.

    Adhere to RapidScale and vendors' best practices during implementation to ensure security, compliance, performance, and cost efficiency goals are met.

    Showcase RapidScale's cloud capabilities to potential and existing customers, managing their expectations based on product capabilities and constraints.

    Address additional client requirements during implementation by offering technical solutions and troubleshooting.

    Collaborate with the Managed Services team to ensure a seamless handover of client environments for ongoing management, including documentation, diagrams, and internal handover sessions.

    Enhance the PS team's skills by providing technical training and support to colleagues.

    Contribute to internal Azure research and development activities to enhance technical processes, validate new technologies, and automate routine tasks.


    QUALIFICATIONS
    Minimum

    - Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 4+ years' experience.

    Candidates with alternative qualifications, such as a master's degree and 2 years' experience; a Ph.D. and up to 1 year of experience; or 8 years' experience will also be considered.

    Minimum 3 years' experience in infrastructure deployments, configuration, automation, and design on Azure platform.
    Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for Azure - Terraform, ARM templates.

    Proficient in migrating workloads to Azure using native tools like Azure Migrate and ASR.

    Thorough understanding and practical experience with Azure networking options: S2S/P2S VPN, VNet peering, NSGs, Availability Zones, DR networking options, Virtual WAN, etc.
    Expertise in Azure


    IAM:
    Hands-on experience with Azure RBAC, External ID, and native AD options.
    Proficiency in implementing Azure policies to uphold configuration standards.
    Experience in scripting and querying (e.g., Powershell, Bash, Python, Azure CLI, KQL).
    Some exposure to deploying IaC and applications using CI/CD pipelines - GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps, etc.
    Experience in Sysadmin tasks on Windows and/or Linux systems.
    Azure Administrator Associate certification at a minimum.

    Preferred

    - Experience in rehosting, replatforming, and refactoring migrations to Azure.
    Azure Network Engineer Associate, Azure SA Expert certifications.
    Familiarity with deploying and configuring Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) service.
    Any exposure to AWS or GCP is advantageous.

    Competitive Annual Salary

    Compensation:


    Base salary ranges from $97,800 to $161,000 per year. The final salary may vary based on factors like location and candidate's expertise.

    Additional compensation, such as incentives, may also be applicable.
