Job Description

The Senior Process Engineer will play a crucial role in providing technical leadership and support to ensure the efficient and safe operations of our refinery.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in refinery processes, project development, and technical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:

Monitor refinery operations and advise management and engineering on emerging issues.
Provide technical guidance and support to technical staff for planning, troubleshooting, and unit support.
Assist in training technical, management, and hourly personnel.
Review designs, Management of Change (MOC) requests, and change orders for technical accuracy.
Troubleshoot refinery problems using engineering principles and collaborate with Operations personnel.
Identify and develop refinery changes to enhance safety, reliability, profitability, and environmental compliance.
Lead long term process development initiatives to improve refinery profitability and performance.
Scope, design, and provide process engineering for refinery projects.
Secure support and funding for major projects and assist in their commissioning and troubleshooting.
Improve unit and system procedures and manage ongoing functions like Process Safety Management (PSM) programs.
Provide senior technical advisory support to management and other departments within the refining business unit.
Offer technical advice on personnel performance and potential.
Provide in depth technical support across refinery departments.
Lead classes and effectively communicate with various stakeholders.
Possess proficiency in refinery process software and design tools.

Requirements:

Bachelor of Science Degree in engineering from an accredited college.
Eight or more years of experience in

refinery/petrochemical

operations with a deep understanding of refinery processes.

Demonstrated leadership in income generation and cost reduction initiatives.
Self motivated with strong communication and leadership skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead peers.
Must be able to work on call, during turnarounds, holidays, and night shifts.
Certified to use respiratory protection equipment as needed for refinery operations.
