- Serves as a first line supervisor.
- Formulates the Program's Water Management Goal activities, including budgets, project activities and activity planning, and policies and procedures.
- Ensures resources protection and resource conflict anticipation, avoidance, and resolution are emphasized in work planning and the accomplishment of day-to-day activities.
- Develops and recommends Reclamation's and San Joaquin River Restoration Program's positions and policies to address challenges, increase efficiencies, and reduce costs in implementing the water management goal activities.
- Manages the preparation of the Program's annual operating budget and the coordination efforts for formulation of out-year projections, and end of year analysis.
- Functions as Reclamation's specialist and lead coordinator for the formulation, evaluation, selection, and implementation of actions required to meet the Water Management Goals of the Settlement.
- As the intra-bureau and interagency coordinator, determines the nature and extent of studies and analyses required for investigations.
- Prepares contracts for all or a portion of assigned investigations.
- Serves as a resource and technical expert on project management and leading projects throughout the entire project lifecycle - from concept to construction to operations and maintenance.
- Establishes and maintains liaison with the many federal, state, public and private agencies.
- Develops effective public information and carries out public involvement programs to keep the general public informed of implementation approaches, identify public concerns, and explain Reclamation policy and methodology.
- Plans, schedules, assigns, sets and adjusts short-term priorities for project activities within established resources and program requirements.
