- Prepares and conducts laboratory research experiments.
- Collects, compiles and analyzes data.
- Collaborates with scientists out of the lab for multidisciplinary study in cancer related projects.
- Develops new model and technique to support the cancer-related research in the lab.

- Collects and compiles imaging data.
- Assists in day-to-day operation of running scientific research lab.
- Attends Lab Meetings, documents weekly data and monthly data.
- Performs independent research in the field of cancer metabolism.
- The focus of our laboratory is cancer metabolism and tumorigenesis. The research work will involve a combination of metabolomics, genomics, epigenomics, shRNA KD, CRISPR-gene editing approaches, over expression and a variety of model systems including cell line, organoids, mice and PDXs.
- Seeks external funding via grants applications/submissions and organizes the data for grant submission.
- Conducts literature searches and summarizes information in an appropriate format for a particular study.
- Should write the IACUC, IRB and IBC reports and ensure these are kept updated.
- Performs sample extraction for metabolomics and use of mass spectrometry instrumentation needed for the projects (training will be provided as needed).
- Demonstrates competency in method development, execution, data analysis, and interpretation of metabolomics profiling and quantitative targeted assays.
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
- Prior experiences in tissue culture and basic molecular biology techniques (e.g., PCR, DNA purification, Western blot, etc.).
- Experience with handling animal models including performing/maintaining therapeutic experiments using mouse models will be plus.
- Experience with LCMS or Cancer metabolism will be plus.

Description
Dr. Putluri's laboratory is dedicated to investigating cause role of cancer progression, with a particular focus on bladder cancer research. Our lab has established a robust research program in this field, encompassing the characterization of metabolic alterations associated with smoking in bladder cancer, exploring health disparities, and elucidating the role of xenobiotic metabolism in bladder cancer progression. We employ a diverse array of pre-clinical models including cancer cell lines, 3D spheroid cultures, orthotopic xenografts, patient-derived xenografts (PDXs), and genetically engineered mouse models (GEMMs).
