- Assist with the financial reporting process for R.D. Offutt Farms entities to provide accurate financial statements for management and external parties.
- Perform balance sheet account reconciliations/reviews.
- Prepare crop year-end financial information used for annual financial meetings.
- Assists in the monthly and yearly closing processes.
- Import and reconcile inventory data for use in the financial reporting process.
- Analyze monthly financial statements and present financial results to supervisor and various levels within the company.
- Responsible for recording recurring journal entries.
- Prepare reconciliations for expense reimbursements to maintain accurate records for company credit cards.
- Assists in the preparation and execution of the companies' compliance and regulatory audits.
- Identifies and reports accounting related issues to appropriate management.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner.
- Be a self-starter; ability to work independently as well as with other personnel and management
- Represent self and company in a professional and positive manner
- Attend required company meetings and training and participate in constructive discussion
- Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook
- Conduct self in the presence of customers and community so as to present a professional image of R.D. Offutt Company
- Proactively seek and participate in available company-sponsored training, in an effort to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set
- Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service
- Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or finance
- 2+ years of progressive work experience in accounting/finance
- Strong understanding of GAAP accounting

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Excel
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- 10% travel required

Job SummaryR.D. Offutt Company is seeking a Financial Accountant to add to the financial accounting team. The Financial Accountant will work with the RD Offutt Company accounting team in Fargo, ND and will support R.D. Offutt Farms. This role will collaborate with individuals within accounting and operations to assist in timely and accurate financial reporting and report results to management.
The R.D. Offutt Farms operates potato farms across the upper Midwest in North Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska and Wisconsin. R.D. Offutt Farms have a long history in the agricultural production industry.
Job Duties Include:
