    Our Cass-Clay Creamery in Fargo, ND is currently seeking a Plant Accountant.


    In this role you will provide accounting guidance and expertise to maintain and report accurate and timely financial information for this single location.

    This includes accounting for all P & L's including manufacturing, distribution, sales and other operating expenses as well as the valuation and reconciliation of inventory.


    Core Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Utilizing professional accounting and technical knowledge, accurately prepare financial statements (e.g. balance sheet, income statement, supplementary management schedules) for the location.
    • Using a thorough understanding of GAAP principles and DFA Accounting policies, interprets accounting transactions and implements best practices.
    • Ensure all financial and operational transactions for the location are accurately captured.
    • Prepare monthly journal entries.
    • Research and resolve problems pertaining to accounting systems and records, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
    • Understand and respond to the urgency of providing timely and complete information to ad hoc requests.
    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related curriculum. Will consider an Associate's degree with 4-6 years' of accounting experience. A CPA is a plus.
    • 3-6 years' of progressive accounting, finance, or related experience.
    • Advanced computer proficiency in MS Excel

    ERP system experience, ie:
    JDE preferred.

    • Strong interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication and listening.
    • Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP (General Accepted Accounting Principles).
    • Analytical skills including the ability to reconcile problematic accounts.
