    Overview

    The Clinical Research Coordinator I's primary responsibility is managing elements of a clinical study in order to meet all protocol obligations while following ICH/GCP guidelines; and departmental/institutional standard operating procedures. These elements include but are not limited to; start-up activities, launch activities, day to day management of a study and study closure activities.

    Exploration of the Neurobiology of Depressive Disorders (MEND2) Lab. This individual will work both independently and assist MEND2 Lab members supporting various research projects that relate to mood disorders in adolescents, children and parents. The primary focus most of their efforts will be on the RuMeChange study. This is a randomized clinical trial of youth with a history of depression. The treatment arms are rumination-focused CBT in comparison to relaxation therapy. Measurements of change include brain imaging, the rumination habit, depressive symptoms, and cognitive functioning.

    Responsibilities

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducting research in the area of affect, cognition, and mood disorders.
  • You may be involved in all stages of research, including project development, data collection, data analysis, and testing.
  • You may coordinate study elements for the RuMeChange project, and will be assisting with daily tasks associated with recruitment, data collection and analysis.
  • You will coordinate visits with study participants and their families.
  • This includes administering structured tests of cognitive and emotion, entering data from questionnaires, training youth in progressive muscle relaxation, delivery of payments and swag to participants and families, liaising with families, teens, and therapists, collecting behavioral performance data before, during and after MRI scanning.
  • Other opportunities will arise within the MEND2 lab for growth and expansion of duties and tasks.
  • The MEND2 laboratory includes collaborations between Nationwide Childrens Hospital, Ohio State University and a host of other national and international collaborators.
  • Qualifications

    KNOWLEDGE , SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

    1. Associates degree or equivalent work related experience; BA/BS preferred.

    2. Understanding of medical terminology and clinical research preferred.

    3. Ability to obtain CRA/CRC certification in timely manner.

    Skills required:
