Summary
The Pro Shop Manager is responsible for the understanding, selling, and promoting of all pro shop products, as well as the management and training of all pro shop employees. The Pro Shop Manager is also responsible for customer service and ensuring each customer leaves with a desire to return.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Work with managers to find, hire and train employees.
Manage employee tasks, scheduling, and performance.
Handle employee performance reviews and disciplinary actions.
Lead pro shop employees by example and by providing sales training that teaches them how to make a personal connection with customers
Support the planning, ordering, receiving, and merchandising for the store
Use data and forward-thinking market trends to determine what products to carry, price levels, and appropriate inventory levels
Work with Marketing on social media content in order to engage with as many customers as possible
Coordinate events in the community and keep an event calendar up to date
Oversee ordering and receiving of products
Develop, plan and execute promotions and demonstrations of products
Attain planned revenue and margin goals. Investigate variances from budget.
Minimize loss of product through theft
Protect employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment
Maintain all merchandising displays
Responsible for the understanding of and successful sales of all pro shop items
Engage with customers by asking open ended questions in order to make a personal connection
Work with product reps and internal hard goods buyer to learn how to better promote and demonstrate all products, as well as determine appropriate ordering of products
Accurately ring up sales, returns, warranty, and exchanges. Receive payment and provide correct change and receipts
Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of the shop, changing rooms, bathrooms
Other tasks as requested by supervisor

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
*Selling:* Able to promote and sell various different items with a full understanding of what each product does and is, in order to communicate that with customers
*Communication:* Able to interact professionally with colleagues, clients, and company personnel, able to clearly and effectively communicate information both orally and in writing
*Training:* Able to clearly document company procedures and policies and train staff and employees on these company procedures and policies
*Customer Service:* Ability to serve our customers respectfully and efficiently. Understand that the customer is our number one priority, and serving them is what will make us successful
*Watersport:* Ability to learn the water sport industry, as well as learn how to use the products we sell (surfing, skiing, etc.)
QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience: High School Diploma Required. 1 year of retail experience required. 2 years of management experience preferred.
Computer Skills: Advanced Microsoft Office experience required. CounterPoint experience preferred

Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually medium to loud. The shop can be cooler in the winters and in the summer, it can be hot. Outdoor work is expected. Work performed on water is also expected.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit or crouch for extended periods of time and regularly required to walk. Employee regularly uses hands and fingers to touch, feel, handle. Employee regularly stoops, kneels, bend at the waist, and reaches. Employee is frequently required to speak and hear. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.
