    Job Summary Alaska OverviewConocoPhillips is Alaskas largest crude oil producer and largest owner of exploration leases, with approximately 1.6 million net undeveloped acres at year-end 2021.

    The company produced an average of 197 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day in 2021.

    ConocoPhillips has major ownership interests in two of North Americas largest oil fields, both located on Alaskas North SlopeKuparuk, which the company operates, and Prudhoe Bay.

    Additionally, ConocoPhillips operates the Alpine Field located on the Western North Slope. The company has an ownership interest in the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS) and owns/operates the Polar Tankers fleet.

    DescriptionAs a key member of the Alaska Logistics and Materials team, the Logistics Specialist is accountable for daily maintenance and support of managing procured materials freight activity including truck, air, ocean, and freight forwarding modes.

    The Specialist supports contractual agreements to maximize value in terms of spend, process efficiency, internal controls, and compliance with trade regulations.

    The Logistics Specialist is expected to collaborate and interface with AK Business Unit representatives, Corporate SME(s), and Contractors to successfully source and manage contracts that meet the intended results of quality, cost, and schedule delivery requirements.


    Job Description Your responsibilities may include:
    Work as a member of the Alaska Business Unit Logistics team to define, execute, and achieve the Logistics Plan objectivesDevelop overall strategy and long-term plan for road, rail, air, and marine transportationManage internal work processes in support of Alaska freight activityInteract with Transportation Carriers to resolve and assist in daily transactions for domestic and international shipmentsAct as the key resource to businesses on CPAI freight systems, data, and global freight functional knowledgeAssist with sourcing and contracting strategies in all transportation lanesMaintain Logistics and Materials Process Guidelines (Routing Guide)

    Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and cost of logisticsInteract with transportation carriers to ensure timely delivery of materialsWork with carriers to resolve and assist in daily transactionsTrack and communicate status of priority shipmentsKey resource to the business for day-to-day logistics needsDay-to-day shipping mode optimizationCollaborate with carriers on continuous improvement initiativesMonitor carrier performanceIdentify and escalate risks and challenges to meeting cost and service targetsMaintain relationships with key carriersLogistics contract managementPartner with procurement team within BU and at corporate to drive sourcing efforts across various modes of transportation to achieve expected cost and service targetsSupport development of RFIs/RFPsDefine scope of work for logistics providersCollaborate with business to optimize road, air, marine, and rail freight costs and service (e.g.

    , consolidation, higher utilization of trucks)Identify and assess potential risks in road, rail, air, and marine logisticsLead strategic initiatives to improve Alaska logisticsLead and manage logistics of specialized transportationParticipation in the Anchorage Incident Management TeamBasic/Required:

    Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employerBachelors Degree or higher in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field or foreign equivalent5+ years experience in logistics or transportationWilling and able (with or without reasonable accommodations) to travel 20% on an annual basisPreferred: 7+ years experience in logistics or transportation3+ years experience in SAP1+ years North Slope logistics experience1+ years experience supporting a complex logistics networkAdvanced analytical and problem-solving skillsIntermediate knowledge of North Slope Oil & Gas OperationsIntermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office suiteAbility to develop commonly used logistics modeling tools to support decision making and planning effortsDelivers results through realistic planning to accomplish goalsBuilds effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethicalBuilds strong relationships based on trust and seeks opportunities to collaborate across the matrix/organizational boundaries to achieve business goals
