In the voluntary service (Voluntary Social Year or Federal Voluntary Service) with us Maltesers, you will not only gain valuable experience and receive comprehensive training, but also help other people.

You will be deployed in our transport service for the transportation of elderly, sick and disabled people. Due to a disability or age-related complaints, they lack mobility. They therefore have no way of maintaining their social contacts or attending appointments such as doctor visits. For people who are bound to wheelchairs or people with walking aids, we offer a transport service at Maltesers. We also daily visit facilities such as schools or workplaces for people with disabilities.

You will primarily be employed as a driver in the transportation of disabled people and wheelchair users in the regular and individual transport service.

Your tasks in detail:

  • Transportation of disabled and needy people with a wheelchair-accessible special vehicle (pick-up and, if necessary, accompaniment to and from destinations)
  • As a co-driver, providing social and needs-based care for our patients and customers before, during and after the journey
  • Assistance to patients and customers when departing and arriving (proper handling of wheelchairs)
  • Proper operation of the wheelchair equipment in the vehicle and securing of wheelchairs
  • Driving the vehicle in compliance with legal regulations
