- New Product Sourcing:
- Identify and vet potential suppliers by researching availability of parts, equipment, machinery, services, and materials.
- Support various departments including Marketing, R&D, Finance, Service, and Quality during all phases of product development.
- Collaborate with Engineering to explore new materials and vendors for cost efficiency and innovative product designs.
- Participate in supplier evaluations including bid analysis, cost assessment, price justifications, and risk management.
- Sourcing Disruption Risk Mitigation:
- Investigate and address historical supply chain disruptions, focusing on lead times, supplier stability, quality issues, and cost increases.
- Source alternative suppliers for critical components, prioritizing high-risk areas.
- Aid in the evaluation and validation process for alternative suppliers to ensure part viability.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor and analyze incoming freight costs, particularly for overseas shipments.
- Evaluate inventory processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency, including management of slow-moving inventory.
- Adjust reorder points and quantities in our systems based on recent trends and supplier lead times.
- Lead initiatives to update supplier lead times in our systems for enhanced data accuracy.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Support the Purchasing and Operations teams with additional projects as needed.
- At least 3 years of experience in purchasing or sourcing.
- Proficiency in MRP software and understanding of BOM structures.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
