    Description

    Summary:

    The Pastoral Care Lead reports directly to the Sisters ofCharity of the Incarnate Word (CCVI) General Leadership Team (GLT)Liaison for the Center for Wholistic Care. This position providespastoral care services and assistance for individual Sisters livingat the Village of the Incarnate Word (Village) and those residingexternally. This position serves as a member of the CCVI Center forWholistic Care and collaborates with all team members and staffmembers at the Village. This position, along with the ResourceManagement Coordinator oversees duties of the Volunteer SisterPastoral Care/Resource Management Associates.

    • Meets expectations of the applicableOneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, orLeader of Leaders.
    • Has understanding of andcommitment to the charism and mission of the Sisters of Charity ofthe Incarnate Word: "To actualize the saving and healing love ofthe Incarnate Word by promoting humandignity."
    • Works collaboratively with CCVICenter for Wholistic Care staff and the Village staff to supporteach Sister's well-being.
    • Reports any concernsabout Sisters' level of care and well-being to CCVI WellnessTeam.
    • Travel required: Visits Sistersregularly, if admitted, to the hospital or other healthcarefacility.
    • Visits Sisters regularly in theVillage to listen and pray.
    • Supports Sistersat times of personal grieving.
    • Welcomes newSisters to the Village.
    • Provides prayersuggestions and material (books, tapes), including seasonalmaterials for Advent and Lent.
    • Engages Sistersby organizing and executing spiritual activities to includewebinars.
    • Ministers in a compassionate andempathetic manner, which includes listening, caring and supportingin a way that is most beneficial to theSister.
    • Coordinates monthly meetings forSisters living at the Village.
    • Meets thepastoral/spiritual needs of the Sisters, including offeringspiritual and comforting support to the critically ill anddying.
    • Assists and supports Sisters withfuneral planning.
    • Works collaboratively withthose involved for Sisters' funerals.
    • Facilitates relationship development between Sisters and the GLT tonurture a supportive environment.
    • Upholdsconfidentiality for all Sisters.
    • Collaborateswith the staff and administration of theVillage.
    • Attends all meetings and trainings asrequired, which may include in-service trainings and staffmeetings.
    • Supervises, along with ResourceManagement Coordinator, Sister Volunteer Pastoral Care/ResourceManagement Associates.
    • Maintainsconfidentiality, adhering to HIPPA guidelines asappropriate.
    • Member in good standing withinthe Roman Catholic Church preferred.
    • Handlesother duties as assigned.

    Requirements:

    • Master's degree in Theology, Divinity, orPastoral Care preferred.
    • Chaplain experienceas part of an interdisciplinary team.
    • Experience as a pastoral professional within a healthcare setting,preferably with a geriatric population
    • Fourunits of CPE required.
    • Board Certificationwith NACC, APC or NAJC preferred.
    • ValidDriver's license.
