- Ensures Seaport's Safety Standards are upheld and adhered to every day.
- Review work orders with the Production Manager to estimate worker hours and create machining schedules that meet both internal and external needs.
- Computes amounts of stock and supplies required for operations, based on production schedules, and requisitions materials from each bay within Seaport Steel's facility.
- Interprets specific orders to workers, and assigns duties.
- Communicates the status of the work schedule to the appropriate managers across all facilities.
- Interfaces with the Production Manager to ensure customer deadlines are met.
- Ensure the best method of moving material to machines has been created prior to work area staging.
- Directs workers in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products that fail to meet standards.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of products.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of the shop, department, or work crew.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Maintains time and production records.
- Review the accuracy of work completed.
- Mentors staff to ensure work quality is at or above standards.

- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year College or technical school; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of manager
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as basic arithmetic and ability to read a tape measure.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office and Entieo.
