    Job Summary:

    Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in operating a variety of machines to complete orders placed by customers by performing the following duties.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
    Other duties may be assigned.
    Ensures Seaport's Safety Standards are upheld and adhered to every day.

    Review work orders with the Production Manager to estimate worker hours and create machining schedules that meet both internal and external needs.

    Computes amounts of stock and supplies required for operations, based on production schedules, and requisitions materials from each bay within Seaport Steel's facility.

    Interprets specific orders to workers, and assigns duties.
    Communicates the status of the work schedule to the appropriate managers across all facilities.
    Interfaces with the Production Manager to ensure customer deadlines are met.
    Ensure the best method of moving material to machines has been created prior to work area staging.
    Directs workers in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products that fail to meet standards.
    Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
    Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of products.

    Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of the shop, department, or work crew.

    Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
    Maintains time and production records.
    Review the accuracy of work completed.
    Mentors staff to ensure work quality is at or above standards.

    Education/ExperienceAssociate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year College or technical school; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    Language AbilityAbility to read, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
    Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

    Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managerMath AbilityAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as basic arithmetic and ability to read a tape measure.

    Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

    Reasoning AbilityAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

    Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
    Computer SkillsTo perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office and Entieo.
