    Join YAI to Support People with Developmental Disabilities

    About the Job:

    YAI is on a mission to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities lead fulfilling lives. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) 3, you'll play a crucial role in assisting with daily living activities, providing counseling, and fostering community integration. Ideal candidates should have a passion for working with this population and be ready to offer support in various aspects of daily life.

    Company: YAI has been a pioneer in providing services for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities since 1957. With a dedicated team of over 4,000 professionals, YAI is committed to empowering over 20,000 individuals across various regions.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Demonstrating and modeling skills of DSP 1 & DSP 2
    • Mentoring junior DSPs
    • Modeling Professionalism and Leadership
    • Identifying regional needs
    • Training and presenting across the region
    • Participating in agency projects
    • Reviewing program systems
    • Creating person-centered plans
    • Supporting team dynamics
    • Facilitating community engagement
    • Managing complex family dynamics

    Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or GED (some college preferred)
    • Experience working with individuals with disabilities
    • Proficiency in Activities of Daily Living
    • Completion of required trainings
    • Computer literacy
    • Valid NY State Driver's License (if applicable)

    • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
    • Initiative-taking attitude
    • Flexibility

    Compensation: $19.00 per hour
