- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must maintain a good driving record as per your Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- If you will be operating a vehicle(s) with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 26,000 lbs or more, you will need to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL). If this applies to your role, you'll have to get your CDL during the probationary period.
- Handle, unload, and move track materials and equipment from rail cars, carts, or trucks.
- Replace and repair rails, rail anchors, spikes, ballast, ties, and other parts as necessary.
- Operate equipment; dig holes, trenches, etc.
- Inspect tracks (including beds and right-of-way) for issues or defects.
- Follow company and industry safety rules, practices, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all railroad rules and regulations for safety, operations, and Federal Railroad Administration (FRA).
- Build and maintain positive relationships with coworkers, supervisors, contractors, and customers, and handle situations effectively.
- Drive company vehicles as required.
- Maintain track beds by cutting vegetation and brush as needed, and clearing dust or snow from movable track parts.
- Carry out other assigned duties.

- Candidates must successfully complete an assessment in English before proceeding to the interview stage to be considered for this role.
- Hold a Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) - Class A or Class B.
- Demonstrate experience working outdoors in different weather conditions.
- Proficiency in welding or possess a welding certificate.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment, including construction and farm machinery.
- Familiarity with working in construction-like environments.
- Minimum of one year of experience in Railroad Maintenance of Way work.
- Flexible to work on-call, overtime, and various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Candidates must pass a Physical Ability Test (PAT) before being considered for employment. This is separate from the medical exam.
- Physically Demanding Tasks: Must engage in physically demanding tasks, including bending, stooping, and kneeling occasionally.
- Lifting and Carrying: Must occasionally lift and carry items up to 65 lbs and push and pull objects up to 119 lbs.
- Standing: Capable of standing for extended periods and changing positions periodically for comfort.
- Walking: Safely walk and maintain balance on uneven surfaces.
- Climbing: Able to climb ladders as needed.
- Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.
- Personal Protective Equipment: Agree to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) as mandated by the company.
- Location Flexibility: Position requires living and working in specific locations.
- Working around Large Equipment: Ready to work near heavy machinery such as railcars, locomotives, and cranes.

As a Track Laborer - Driver Eligible, you'll have a key role in ensuring the safe and smooth movement of trains, serving customers all across North America.
