- Collaborative Care: Work collaboratively with Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs) to assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for individuals with mental health disorders.
- Consultation: Provide expert consultation to APNs regarding complex psychiatric cases, treatment options, and medication management.
- Treatment Planning: Participate in the development and implementation of comprehensive treatment plans for patients, incorporating both pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions.
- Supervision and Support: Offer supervision and support to APNs, ensuring they have the necessary resources and guidance to deliver high-quality mental health care.
- Education and Training: Provide ongoing education and training to APNs on psychiatric best practices, emerging research, and advancements in the field.
- Collaborative Decision-Making: Engage in collaborative decision-making processes with APNs to enhance patient outcomes and improve the overall quality of care.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, documenting assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with organizational and legal standards.
- Quality Improvement: Contribute to quality improvement initiatives by actively participating in peer reviews, case conferences, and other relevant forums.
- Medical Degree: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Psychiatry Residency: Completion of a psychiatry residency program and board certification in psychiatry.
- Licensure: Current and unrestricted license to practice psychiatry in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Collaborative Skills: Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex psychiatric concepts to non-specialists.
