    Position Title
    IT OPERATIONS AIDE - PART TIME


    Reports To
    Director

    Functions and Responsibilities


    Job Summary
    Under the supervision of the Director of Information Technology computing or designee, the IT Operations Aide monitors, controls and operates data processing for IT Operations


    Supervisory Role
    Oral and written instructions received from the Director of Information Technology or designee. Supervision given to office support staff.


    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Monitors operational activities according to established schedules, priorities, special instructions, and resource availability.
    • Assists in the scheduling of computer operations and the assignment of personnel to the various tasks required for computer functions.
    • Identifies and reports hardware and software malfunctions. Assists with diagnosis and correction of malfunction.
    • Advises programmers of corrective action taken when operating malfunctions occur.
    • Verifies that reports and other output are complete.
    • Keeps accurate records of time and equipment utilization; prepares requests for supplies.
    • Prepares routine and special reports as required.
    • Performs other related duties as required.

    Minimum Qualifications


    Minimum Experience (number of years), Knowledge and/or Abilities

    • Associate's Degree in Computers or related field.
    • Demonstrated experience in computer operations
    • Working knowledge of SQL and Unix commands.
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze data to reason logically and to draw sound conclusions in recommending courses of action; to review, comprehend, and utilize data processing methodologies, procedures, and technique.
    • Good written and oral communication skills.
    • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
    • Ability to interact within a culturally diverse environment.

    Minimum Education Requirements
    Associate's Degree


    Licenses and Certifications (including e.g., CPR, first aid, driver's license, etc.)

    Preferred Qualifications


    Experience (number of years), Knowledge and/or Abilities

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer or related field.
    • Experience with Ellucian Banner enterprise system.
    • Demonstrated ability to support the Banner system.
    • Ability to write script.
