Job DescriptionJob Description
CABVI is seeking a Temporary Prevocational Program Coordinator to provide instruction and supervision of participants in CABVI's Youth Prevocational Residential Program.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follow established lesson plans in areas of soft-skill development, work-related skill acquisition, career development and other pre-vocational topics.
Teach seminars, residential programs (multi-day events) that will allow for skill acquisition and enhanced vocational preparedness.
Consult daily with CABVI staff, nurse, program supervisor and Adaptive Sports and Recreation and Residential Services Manager to communicate student needs, concerns, and safety.
Supervise and engage with students during vocational and recreational community outings.Complete all required documentation in a timely manner, including observation notes, progress notes and final program summaries, to be submitted for billing.
Adapts to change and completes other duties as assigned by supervisor.JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must have ability to effectively present information, and respond to questions from children, parents, professionals, and the public. Must have ability to write reports and correspondence.
Must be able to give explicit visual cues according to child's visual status and have ability to develop the child's confidence and self-esteem.
Requires excellent listening skills.Basic computer skills.
Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Minimal travel required. Instruction may occur in a variety of environments including CABVI Residential, CABVI facilities, and the community.
Bachelors degree in education required. Experience and desire to work with children required.
Must have prior teaching experience in a classroom setting.
Must meet the Department of Special Education and the Department of Health personnel standards.
