METROPOLITAN STATE HOSPITAL- Located in Norwalk, Los Angeles County

  • Metropolitan is seeking a highly motivated selfstarter who possesses excellent customer service, analytical and communication skills to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I (SSM I) or designee in the Examination and Selection Services Unit of the Human Resources (HR) Department, the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA)/Associate Personnel Analyst (APA) performs the more responsible, varied and complex technical work such as provide timely and appropriate personnel management consultation and technical assistance to management and staff and ensuring decisions and actions on selections are consistent with laws, policies, and standards governing the State Civil Service Merit System and meet management needs. The AGPA/APA will support and promote a positive work environment and maintain professional relationships with all levels of staff and stakeholders of Department of State Hospitals (DSH). All Selection Services staff are expected to do some travel and occasional work on weekends.

  • Opened in 1916, DSH-Metropolitan State Hospital is in the vibrant community of Norwalk,15 miles east of Los Angeles. To the south are entertainment venues like Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, the marinas and beaches of Huntington, Newport and Laguna. To the west are Palos Verdes and Marina Del Rey. DSH-Metropolitan State Hospital has an open campus within a security perimeter. The hospital operates approximately 826 beds.
