    Courtyard by Marriott Amelia Island

    We are looking for an experienced and well-organized Sales Manager.

    You will be responsible for bringing new business to the hotel and maintain relationships with past clients to ensure their continued business.

    As a Sales Manager you are responsible to develop and foster business through pro-active direct sales, marketing, telemarketing, direct mail, appointment calls and tours of the hotel.

    Also develops strategic action plans for hotels to drive measurable, incremental sales revenue.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Always approach all interactions with guests and employees in a friendly and serviceoriented manner by maintaining a positive demeanor.
    • Work with Sales Director to plan and execute special events, which includes meeting with clients and vendors to obtain information regarding their event.
    • Analyze current client base or target market for the hotel and devises new ways to expand it.
    • Develop promotional and advertising materials for the hotel and oversees distribution of marketing materials.
    • Reach out to organizations and businesses that might require a hotel for conferences and events and meets with representatives from these companies to explain the hotel's merits and amenities.
    • Network with wedding planners and special event planners to encourage hotel bookings.
    • Design and advertise special group rates and packages to increase larger bookings.
    • Ensure that guests are enjoying their stay at the hotel and that large group needs are met.
    • Address complaints and negative feedback from customers to address concerns and where applicable, provide a quick service recovery.
    • Assign territories and quotas to Sales staff, tracking progress on a regular basis.
    • Coordinate training and scheduling for Sales staff.
    • Show initiative in job performance by anticipating the needs of guests and team members.
    • Follow all company's policies, procedures, and meet standards.
    • Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
    Qualifications


    • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
    • Minimum 2 years of convention services, or sales support experience required, hospitality industry preferred.
    • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, or scheduled form.
    • Ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English in order to communicate with guests and team members.
    • Knowledge of reservation and POS systems.
    • Ability to work with computers and good knowledge of operating software preferred.
    • Must be able to multi-task and be detail-oriented.
    • Must be a team player.
