    This bakery, café, and Burmese restaurant is a vibrant spot in downtown Ojai, where history meets modernity. It's a hub of local flavors and artistic expression, brought to life by a close-knit team of Zoe, Josh, Baker Kelsey Brito, and Chef Saw Naing. By day, indulge in artisanal coffee, freshly baked goods, hearty breakfast options, and flavorful salads. When evening falls, embark on a culinary journey through the rich Burmese cuisine crafted by Chef Saw. Accompany your meal with carefully selected wines and handcrafted cocktails, all sourced sustainably to support local farmers and producers.

    The Chain of Service:

    Each team member plays a crucial role in enhancing the guest experience. From food preparation to impeccable service, both front-of-house and back-of-house staff contribute to creating unforgettable moments for our guests. The dishwasher, in particular, ensures a seamless dining experience by keeping our kitchen equipment spotless and our guests healthy and happy.

    Duties and responsibilities

    As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for:

    • Prepping a variety of ingredients from fruits and vegetables to meat and fish.
    • Assisting with product receiving and storage.
    • Maintaining top-notch quality control.
    • Adhering to portion sizes, cooking standards, and kitchen protocols.
    • Keeping your work area clean and organized.
    • Following prep lists diligently and ensuring tasks are completed with excellence.
    • Supporting kitchen opening and closing procedures.
    • Performing any additional tasks delegated by the Chef.

    Requirements

    • Efficiency in work without sacrificing quality.
    • Clear and effective communication skills.
    • Comprehension of verbal instructions in English.
    • Basic knowledge of sanitation and personal hygiene.
    • Valid California Food Handler's card.
    • Consistent attendance and attention to detail.
    • Capability to operate kitchen equipment.

    Physical Demands

    • Moderate physical exertion, including standing, lifting, bending, and carrying up to 50 pounds.

    Working Conditions

    • Dynamic work environment with varying elements like noise, heat, and odors.
    • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
