SAIC is currently seeking a talented Project Engineer to join their team. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for providing Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) support to the Government Program Office Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR) in various program and technical activities related to satellite communications ground software and command & control systems.

Position Overview:
Serve as Ground Software / Command & Control Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Main Responsibilities:
- Assist Government COTR in overseeing the software development Contractor's program execution.
- Review and monitor the Contractor's:
- Requirements functional analysis and allocation
- Proposed architecture and design
- Proposed development plan and schedule
- Proposed test program and test results
- Review and analyze Contractor data deliverables to the Government:
- Systems Engineering Master Plan (SEMP)
- System/Subsystem Specifications
- Version Description Documents (VDD)
- Test Plans, Test Procedures, Test Reports
- Develop technical requirements and acquisition documentation:
- System Requirements Specification (SysRS)/ Technical Requirements Document (TRD)
- Statements of Work for engineering change proposals
- Support development of program requirements-related documentation:
- Use Cases, Concept of Operations (CONOPS), System Interface Documents
- Recommend specifications and standards for use as contractual compliance/reference documents.
- Support the Government's Request for Change (RFC) process for new / modified technical requirements:
- Prepare and coordinate RFC packages.
- Brief at Government-chaired Engineering Review Boards / Configuration Management Boards
- Evaluate Contractors' RFC impact analyses.
- Support other Program Office activities:
- Perform technical evaluation of Contractor proposals.
- Participate in Contractor formal reviews (SRR, SDR, PDR, CDR, TRR)
- Witness Contractor-conducted factory testing
- Review Discrepancy Reports (DRs) and provide recommendations of prioritization and adjudication of fixes.
- Assist in software release planning.

Qualifications:
- TS/SCI clearance
- BS degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent technical field with 9+ years of experience; Masters and 7+ years of experience.
- Strong written, communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to independently work through all stages of tasking.
- Ability to travel occasionally (approx. quarterly)
- Knowledge of systems engineering and mission assurance specifications and standards
- Familiarity with Agile development and methodology
- Familiarity with Cloud platforms and services
- 7-9 Years software engineering or technical experience, preferably with ground-related systems

Desired Skills:
- Agile software development experience
- MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or technical field
- Familiarity with Information Assurance and Risk Management Framework
- Acquisition experience
