As the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis, you will be responsible for supporting business decisions with sound financial analysis.

This role is critical to the growth and success of the organization and provides an opportunity for involvement with a mid-market sized, private equity backed company in the early stages of what will be meaningful organic and inorganic growth.

You will report directly to the CFO, with one direct report and the possibility of a larger team in the future.


ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting**:


  • Prepare timely and accurate weekly/monthly reporting while driving insights into company financials through variance and KPI analysis.
  • Prepare quarterly Board of Directors and Monthly Performance Review presentations outlining key business initiatives and financial performance.
  • Ensure consistent communication of results, forecasts, and action plans to the company and its stakeholders (i.e., private equity sponsor, lender(s), etc.).
  • Build and maintain reports for various divisions and leaders across the company.

Financial Analysis:

  • Analyze financial implications of business performance and provide recommendations to support management decision making.
  • Work with internal personnel to support forecasting and annual budgeting processes.

Strategy and Operations:

  • Lead process improvement for the finance department.
  • Support strategic initiatives, driving increased profitability and long-term value creation.
  • Create and maintain a long-term business forecast.
  • Partner with the Controllership, Treasury, and Tax teams to provide compliant reporting.
  • Support acquisition activity, including due diligence and post-merger integration, as applicable.

Team Management and Development:

  • Lead and manage a financial analyst, providing guidance and support to ensure high-performance.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, professional development, and collaboration within the department.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and provide constructive feedback to team members.

Additional Responsibilities:


  • Handle additional responsibilities and projects as assigned.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, plus a minimum of 7 years of related professional work experience.
  • Preference for CPA (active or inactive status) and/or MBA.
  • Proven experience working in FP&A in a complex business with exposure to executive leadership.
  • Strong familiarity and use of Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Deep Excel, pivot table, and data modeling skills.
  • Comfort combining data sets from multiple systems and sources of data and information.
  • Power BI and Acumatica experience desired, but not required. Experience working in an ERP system is a must.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage numerous client relationships, both externally and internally.
  • Wellorganized, selfdirected, and comfortable working in a team environment.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and display comfort explaining accounting concepts to people with nonfinancial backgrounds.
  • Responsiveness and discretion in responding to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Team player attitude is a must.
  • Motivated, trustworthy, and detailoriented, with the ability to see the bigger picture while working quickly and with accuracy.
