    Job Description:

    What you will do:

    The primary purpose of this position is to support the Fish Life History Analysis Project (FHLAP). The person in this position will prepare field samples for analysis, interpret fish scale and otolith age and marking patterns, and contribute to project databases. This position will be responsible for sample intake and organization for FHLAP and the ODFW Scale Archive.

    Requirements/Requested Skills: Minimum qualifications are not established for this position; however, we are seeking applicants with the following related skills and experience (e.g., identifying adult fish species (especially salmonids), collecting and accurately recording field data, computer skills, customer service, the ability to work independently in remote locations, and use of laboratory equipment and techniques. We are seeking applicants who possess or are in pursuit of a Fisheries or Wildlife Science degree or related degree in biological/ecological sciences. Preference for interviews may be given to candidates with this background.

    This position requires a flexible work schedule that varies in the number of hours worked on a daily basis, but not necessarily each day, or a work schedule in which the starting and stopping times vary on a daily basis, but not necessarily each day, and but does not exceed forty (40) hours in a workweek. Work exceeding 40 hours per week requires prior approval by the supervisor.
