- High volume gastroenterology practice
- Regional quaternary referral center in addition to broad established referral base
- 10-room ambulatory surgery center for general endoscopy
- Multiple additional endoscopy sites in the surrounding region
- Two Hospital-based endoscopy units with rooms for general and interventional endoscopy.
- Inflammatory bowel diseases program
- Interventional endoscopy program
- Hepatology program
- Collaborative team-based approach to care
- Teaching and research opportunities available
- Work in conjunction with other subspecialists
- Inpatient coverage (about 1:5 weeks, about 1:10 weekends)
- Outpatient work (flexible schedule of endoscopy and office)
- Assesses and monitors the medical needs of patients/significant others.
- Provides quality medical services to patients in a cost effective, appropriate manner and ensures coverage of case load at all times.
- Provides input into the development of policies and procedures as they related to medical practice and quality patient care.
- Provides oversight of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners and others providing delegated services to patients.
- Evaluates patients'/significant others'/staff educational needs and develops and implements appropriate teaching strategies or delegates to appropriate resources.
- Documents in a manner consistent with regulatory standards.
- Communicates with other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services. Acts as a patient/family advocate.
- Participates in ongoing process improvement activities through the development/application of clinical paths, process improvement and other related activities.
- Required Bachelor's Degree
