    Job Summary:

    The Director of Partnerships and Grants manages and coordinates partner services and is responsible for the facilitation of positive community relationships with outside agency providers and/or wraparound service providers working in partnership with the Reynolds School District in accordance with the district's policies and procedures.

    The Director will provide oversight and direction to the PNI Partnerships Liaison.

    The Director is primarily responsible for identifying, defining, and developing funding sources to support existing and planned program activities as well as coordinating the development, writing, and submission of grant proposals to third-party entities.

    The position is also responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting data on the performance of program activities that are funded by third-party public and private sources.

    This position will support faculty and administration in developing proposals, assembling and submitting grant requests, establishing and maintaining personal contact and relationships with foundation contacts, conducting prospect research, and maintaining a calendar of submissions and other deadlines.


    Essential Job Functions:

    Partnerships:
    Establish and maintain relevant controls and feedback systems to monitor the operation of the outside agencies.
    Ensure service providers/charters are compliant with service agreements and district expectations.
    Establish sound working relationships and cooperative arrangements with community groups and organizations.
    Represent the Reynolds School District and its point of view to agencies, organizations, and the general public.

    Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among service agencies that allows for disagreement over ideas, conflict and expeditious conflict resolution, and the appreciation of diversity as well as cohesiveness, supportiveness, and work effectively together to enable the agency and the district to succeed.

    Lead agencies to meet the district's expectations for student success, quality, and goal accomplishment.
    Develop, coordinate, and enforce systems, policies, procedures, and evaluate outcomes.
    Empower the agencies to take responsibility for their jobs and goals. Expect accountability and regular feedback.

    Oversees the completion and implementation of a long-range district fund development plan and activities to advance the district strategic plan.

    Develops communication plan regarding the partnership and development process, creates a website with a toolkit and resources for campuses and on-going news for current and potential.


    Grants:
    Develop and write grant proposals to grant-making organizations; persuasively communicate the District's mission and programs to potential funders;
    Assemble and submit grant requests, including letters, proposals, budgets, and presentations;
    Establish and maintain personal contact and relationships with grant-making contacts and program officers;
    Ensure prompt acknowledgement and Board acceptance of grants received;
    Maintain calendar to ensure timely submission of letters of inquiry, proposal deadlines, and reports;
    Conduct prospect research;
    Develop, manage and improve grant monitoring, systems and database;
    Prioritize projects to keep multiple projects moving in a timely manner, meet deadlines, and manage supplemental material required for proposals;
    Provide effective performance feedback
    Maintain transparent communication. Appropriately communicate district information through department meetings, on-on-one meetings, and appropriate e-mail, and regular interpersonal communication.

    Communicates a vision for the development and management of externally-funded initiatives for the district, including a plan to regularly communicate to internal and external stakeholders.


    Qualifications:

    The successful candidate will be able to:
    Craft funding proposals in a clear, structured, articulate and compelling manner.
    Demonstrate excellent writing, analytical, and research skills.
    Possess strong editing skills and attention to detail.
    Be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly-organized
    Have experience using online databases and other sources to locate information, and demonstrate a high level of computer literacy.

    Possess an ability to work well under pressure and the ability to seek and synthesize information and communicate in a compelling and succinct form.

    Demonstrate a solid understanding of budgets as they relate to proposals and grants.
    Demonstrate knowledge of federal and state and city grant guidelines.
    Demonstrate an ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with community groups and funders.
    Experience and comfort working in a diverse, multicultural environment, and sensitivity to and appreciation of cultural differences.
    Monitor and maintain financial ledger of expenditures pertaining to each grant.
    Ensure compliance with grant parameters and expectations.
    Outstanding interpersonal relationship building, coaching, and development skills.
    Management experience in a team-oriented workplace.
    Demonstrated ability to serve as a knowledgeable resource to the organization's management team that provides leadership and direction.
    Evidence of an ability to practice a high level of confidentiality.
    Excellent organizational management skills.

    Education and/or Experience:
    Bachelor's Degree/Master's Degree preferred
    Valid Oregon Administrator's License
    5+ years demonstrated experience in securing and managing major grants for K-12 school districts

    5+ years demonstrated experience working with multiple city and county governments, community partner organizations, and service providers in service of a public school district's mission and vision.

    Portland metro area experience preferred.
    Demonstrated experience serving as a Director or above in a K-12 school district
