    The Role

    The Energy Engineer supervises and assists in the evaluation, development, and design of energy efficiency and capital improvement projects such as energy audits, energy management, and sustainable design. Candidates who can commence in June 2023 are encouraged to apply. Multiple positions are available.

    Responsibilities

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    - Assess the economic, engineering, or practical viability of energy efficiency enhancement projects.
    - Perform cost-benefit analyses, ascertain potential return on investments, evaluate plans or system layouts, set design objectives, allocate resources, define project scope and ensure adherence to Federal, State, or local regulations.
    - Conduct energy audits and on-site assessments to assess energy consumption and identify opportunities for energy savings and related enhancements.
    - Inspect and oversee the primary energy flow of energy systems in buildings and facilities.
    - Analyze building utility bills to determine actual energy usage and patterns.
    - Produce reports and technical documents, and present findings to property managers, building owners, co-op/condominium boards, and other decision-makers at client properties.

    Skills/Qualifications

    - Minimum of 2 years of experience in energy engineering and/or auditing.
    - Proficiency in ASHRAE level audit practices, LL 87, 95, and 97 knowledge.
    - Proficient in control theory, sustainable design, automatic environmental control systems, building automation systems, or other building subsystems.
    - Familiarity with incentive program regulations and the ability to select the most suitable program for a project.
    - Understanding of lifecycle analysis for facility efficiency and energy conservation projects.
    - Experience in inspecting or monitoring energy systems, including HVAC systems, to determine energy usage or potential energy savings.
    - Experience in reviewing architectural, mechanical, or electrical plans and specifications to assess energy efficiency or determine economic, service, or engineering feasibility.
    - Proficient in Excel and possess excellent computer skills.
    - Strong problem-solving skills.
    - Effective oral and written communication with key stakeholders, including property management firms and building management personnel, to exchange information, clarify projects, ensure program comprehension, and coordinate compliance efforts.
    - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
    - Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
    - Ability to present information effectively and respond to inquiries from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
