    Description

    Ascension Global Staffing and Executive Search is seeking an Intellectual Property Attorney for our global law firm client. Our client is seeking an IP associate to join its dynamic Intellectual Property group. They offer competitive compensation and an excellent benefits package. They are looking for a candidate with a strong technical background in chemical engineering, and a commitment to providing exceptional client service. The ideal candidate will have two (2) to five (5) years of relevant experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications, evaluating patent portfolios, and performing due diligence investigations. The position is location in Minneapolis, but we are open to considering candidates from other GT offices, Boston, New Jersey and Salt Lake City.

    Qualifications & Prior Experience
    • Candidates should be registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
    • An undergraduate or graduate degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline is required.
    • Experience in a law firm is desirable.
    • Candidates must have excellent academic credentials, as well as outstanding organizational and communication skills (written and oral)
    • Candidates should possess leadership skills, be comfortable working directly with clients and work well with others.
    Practice Summary Our client's Intellectual Property & Technology Practice has more than 250 full-time intellectual property attorneys and professionals serving clients across the United States and in key business centers around the world. They handle all aspects of intellectual property, including patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret, Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and right of publicity litigation; trademark prosecution and brand management; copyright and DMCA agent registration; patent prosecution and portfolio management; licensing; inter partes review; third-party monitoring; domain name management; and interferences. They also counsel on the full range of data privacy and security breach issues, provide licensing and cross-border services and defend data privacy, security breach, and Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) class action suits. Their Trademarks and Brand Management Practice features one of the largest trademark prosecution, portfolio management, licensing, litigation, and counseling legal practices worldwide. They also counsel extensively on fair use, social media, mobile, cloud, and new technology issues.
