3. Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pickups and deliveries.
4. Maintain shipping records and update databases with shipment details.
5. Communicate with customers regarding order status, tracking information, and delivery updates.
6. Handle inquiries and resolve issues related to shipping, including discrepancies, damages, and delays.
7. Assist in inventory management by conducting periodic stock checks and reconciling discrepancies.
8. Organize and maintain shipping supplies and materials inventory.
9. Collaborate with other departments, such as sales, warehouse, and customer service, to ensure seamless order fulfillment.
10. Follow safety procedures and protocols when handling hazardous materials or operating equipment.
11. Keep abreast of shipping regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
Requirements:
1. High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics or related field is a plus.
2. Proven experience as a shipping clerk or in a similar role, preferably in a warehouse or distribution environment.
3. Proficiency in using shipping software, inventory management systems, and MS Office suite.
4. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
