    Description
    Medical Receptionist (Kaneohe #OFFICE_INDEED

    A medical office located in Kaneohe is seeking a full-time Receptionist to join their team.

    The front office Receptionist performs a variety of clerical duties and front office operations in support of patient care activities, ensures even patient flow and continuous communication within the clinic, referring physician offices, and organizational staff.

    Qualified candidates for this position will have a minimum of one year of previous clerical experience and previous medical front office experience, have their college degree or certificate from a technical school, and be knowledgeable with medical terminology.     Full-time, 4-10 hour days (7:15am-5:45pm) OR 3-10 hour days + 1/2 day during the week and on Saturdays

    Pay


    $17 to $19 an hour

    Responsibilities

    • Welcome and check in patients.
    • Answer phones and assist walk in patients.
    • Schedule patient appointments.
    • Manage schedule to maximize clinic capacity, including next day schedule.
    • Collect initial demographic and clinical patient information and enters it into the medical record.
    • Collect, record, and post co-pays and other service fees. Document all transactions (CC, cash, check payments).
    • Support all administrative functions, including recordkeeping and correspondence.
    • Maintain and update patient e-charts for continuity of patient care.
    • Respond appropriately to inquiries and complaints.
    • Collect, sort, distribute, or prepare mail/messages for interoffice courier.
    • Provide coverage at all locations as needed.
    • Participate in the Company's public relations/marketing efforts as needed.
    • Obtain initial authorizations necessary for treatment and subsequent authorizations for continuity of patient care.
    • Access patient billing information, process medical records requests.
    • Receive, sort and process incoming faxes.
    • Act as a resource and provides guidance to new employees, offering assistance and direction to less-experienced team members.
    • Troubleshoots and problem solves independently as situations occur.


    Qualifications

    • Minimum one (1) year clerical experience, including filing, use of computer, calculator and basic telephone skills.
    • Minimum one (1) year medical front office experience, preferably within an acute healthcare system environment.
    • College degree or certificate from technical school.
    • Two (2) years front office experience within a healthcare system environment.
    • Knowledge of registration and order entry systems.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology.
    • Proficient with computers.
    • Flexible with accepting work schedules and assignments.
