Description
SWBC is seeking a talented individual top provide services on group health and welfare benefits and assists in the coordination, processing, and resolution of claims.

Evaluates and prepares analysis of employee benefits applications for new and renewal customers to determine the appropriate benefits packages and inputs degree of risk from various factors.
Prepares and submits carrier bid specifications to include maintaining a detailed spreadsheet on rates, premiums, coverage summary or letters of declinations on each carrier bid and reviewing same with Account Executive and/or upon client request.
Acts as a liaison to insurance company representatives and benefits consultants in resolving group and claim problems, issues, and contract compliance, verifying employee coverage as required by health care providers, and coordinates benefits with other businesses.
Establishes and maintains various files and records pertaining to program participation to include participant status and enrollment eligibility and maintains and prepares requested benefits marketing materials including contract, benefits brochures, and forms.
Maintains the resources necessary to administer all SWBC employee benefits products and maintains an up-to-date knowledge on new laws, regulations rating systems, forms and coverage changes that impact health benefits programs by analyzing proposed changes and presenting recommendations for action.
Compiles statistical data and reports pertaining to benefits programs and monitors carrier compliance with contract provisions and SWBC policies.Conducts annual open enrollment to include adding and/or deleting individuals on benefits plans; changing benefits status of employees, retirees, dependents and terminated workers; reviewing enrollment forms and other documents for accuracy prior to submitting to carriers; and assisting employees with proper filing of claims information and problem resolution.
Prepares responses to correspondence and memoranda pertaining to various employee benefit related problems, issues, and concerns.May solicit sales of additional services or products.
Serious candidates will possess the minimum qualifications:
Some college courses in business, insurance, or related fields preferred.
Three to five (3-5) years employee benefits experience preferred.
Experience using Brokerage Builder, Zywave, AMS (BenefitPoint), EmployeeNavigator and systems.
Proficient in Microsoft Applications.
Strong knowledge of insurance terms, coverage, and rating.
Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and analytical skills.
Possess or obtain within ninety days of date of hire, a current Group 1 License.
Able to travel to current and prospective customers and to attend continuing education classes and seminars.
Able to lift 10-20 lbs. of files, manuals, or boxes.
Able to stoop, kneel, and/or sit for long periods of time.
