Summary:


The Patient Referral Coordinator is responsible for proactively developing referral relationships with prioritized providers, provider offices, and other referral sources to achieve volume and revenue goals for Riverside Healthcare, with specific focuses on Cardiology and Heart Surgery, Orthopedics, Oncology, Neurosurgery, Imaging Services and the resulting Post-Acute Care services generated from these referrals.

This person will develop sales techniques, approaches & strategies, monitor and report sales outcomes, determine & provide relevant data, and assure timely resolution of issues that would prevent or slow timely and quality patient referrals.


Experience/Education Requirements:

  • Required HS diploma or its equivalent.
  • Bachelor Degree in Marketing or healthcare related field preferred.
  • Required 3 to 5 years of healthcarerelated sales experience.

Responsibilities:


  • Consistently meets or exceeds regular activity goals with measurable targets such as a number of provider/ provider office/ referral source visits per week, number of provider presentations, and volume growth indicators.
  • Contributes to the ongoing development of the program via input on promotional support materials and media, provider specialty and territory strategies, market interpretation, and client feedback via activity and results tracking and reporting.
  • Demonstrates proficiently in representing Riverside's service line expertise to medical professionals, including but not limited to: Oncology, Neurosurgery, Heart Care, Orthopedics, and Imaging Services as well as Riverside's Post-Acute Care Continuum (Senior Living, Home Health Care, Infusion Services, Sleep Center, IP/OP Rehab)
  • Responsible for referral relationship building with prioritized providers and referral sources in order to grow referral volumes and achieve referral and revenue goals.
  • While focusing on external referral sources and potential sources, also works within Riverside Medical Group to ensure referring providers are proactively informed on RMG specialty capabilities and that a culture of customer service exists with internal referrals as well as from external sources.
  • Proactively fosters a culture of teamwork and respect among all providers—enhancing the relationships of providers to each other, ensuring that communication is accurate, timely and clear so that a seamless, provider team approach is felt by the patient.
  • Attends regular meetings for training and information on current available products and service lines.
  • Develops and coordinates team presentations with service line managers and providers to referral sources.
  • Gathers, analyzes and interprets provider referral intelligence, and reports knowledge promptly to help achieve the Riverside's overall objectives.
  • Maintains and grows relationships with current referring providers, and prospects for new business in assigned territories and/or within specific physician specialties.
  • Maintains customer satisfaction and assists in the management and coordination of customer service as it applies to the referral development effort.
  • Makes facetoface contacts and presentations introducing Riverside service lines and benefits to providers and potential prospects. These presentations include those for Workforce Health potential clients.
  • Coordinates community outreach efforts by engaging key staff for health fairs, farmer's markets, parades and other key community events.
  • Manages a current database of providers and maintains accurate and timely records of field activities, with preparation of regular reports to management including contacts made, tactics achieved, and followup.
  • Participates in annual budgeting process to identify volume and revenue targets.
  • Regularly communicates with current and potential customers regarding service delivery and new service enhancements.
