Responsibilities
The H.V.A.C.
Mechanic performs a variety of duties of relating to maintaining, repairing, and renovating the Hospital's Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Systems.
Under direct supervision of the Supervisor of Plant Maintenance and the H.V.A.C.Mechanic, incumbent is guided by a thorough knowledge of all refrigeration system installations, repair methods, controls, and by knowledge of procedures and policies of department and Hospital, as well as a familiarity with building plans, equipment manuals, and fundamentals of leadership, the following job duties; Examines, tests repairs and installs various refrigeration systems.
Inspects, trouble shoots, cleans and repairs components of all types of heating and cooling systems. Installs all types of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment when necessary. Possesses thorough knowledge of pneumatic and electrical controls. May be required to work weekends, holidays and overtime if needed.Qualifications
High School graduate or High School Equivalency Diploma and one year of advanced trade school or three years experience in the field of refrigeration and air conditioning.
