    Description

    Registered Nurse with experience in women's health is preferred but not required. Being bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.

    Position Summary:
    Provide nursing care and patient education to patients in an ambulatory setting. Patient care assignment may include neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups. Develop patient care goals and assist medical staff with procedures if necessary.

    • Assist in patient needs assessment, take vital signs, and medical history
    • Administer medication, document and communicate clinical findings
    • Perform treatments at the nursing level and follow up on diagnostic results
    • Orient new staff, participate in quality assurance activities and patient care conferences
    • Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocols
    • Identify environmental risks and report/correct any potential or actual safety concerns to ensure patient safety
    • Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care by asking questions and reporting treatment or situations that they don't understand or may not seem right.

    Qualifications:

    • Essential:
      * Program Graduate from an accredited registered nursing program
      * CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days
      * Registered Nurse in New Mexico or recip agreement
    • Nonessential:
      * Bilingual in English/Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo
      * At least 2 years of directly related experience

    Physical Conditions:
    Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.

    Working Conditions:

    • Sig Hazard: Chemicals, Bio Hazardous Materials req PPE
    • Limited access to med room
