- Reviews records of departments or organizations and interviews workers as needed to evaluate the entity's and compliance with applicable laws, regulations and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Examines department activities for compliance with management plans and policies. Inspects accounting systems to determine their efficiency and protective value.
- Assesses the proper accountability of assets by conducting inspections as needed.
- Analyzes data obtained for evidence of deficiencies in controls, duplication of effort, extravagance, fraud, or lack of compliance with laws, government regulations, and management policies or procedures.
- Prepares and submits audit findings and makes recommendations to management.
- Conducts special studies for management such as those required to discover fraud and to develop controls for fraud prevention.
- Prefer 2 years of Accounting experience or a degree in Accounting or a minimum of several courses completed Accounting for College credit.
- Strong attention to details and a self starter.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting principles or demonstrated interest to learn and grow in this area of expertise.
