Connecticut Carpentry Corporation is a 2nd generation family owned and operated company. We are a woman-owned, small business, based out of Rocky Hill Connecticut. We have been in business for over 50 years as a Commercial General Contractor & Specialty Trade Contractor. Specializing in Architectural Millwork, Heavy Timber Construction, Commercial Door Installation & Specialty Trades management. Our dynamic construction team works on large-scale public and private jobs.

Some of our typical clients include Colleges and universities, Municipalities, Healthcare Agencies, K-12 Schools, Real Estate Agencies as well as Commercial Retail Chains, & Private Firms.

We are seeking a Full-Time Estimator to assist in our Rocky Hill office.


Position Description:

  • Soliciting Subcontractor proposals.
  • Performing Quantity takeoffs
  • Complete Bond & Insurance Request Forms.
  • Complete & Compile Bid Forms for Submission.
  • Hand Delivers Bids when required.
  • Reviews and writes contracts, and trade specific scopes of works.
  • Conducts project site visits & attends prebid meetings.
  • Assists with the project transition of startups with our project management staff.
  • Collaborates and assists with our other estimators.

Requirements:
Knowledge and Skills

  • 12 years of experience is desired, but not a set requirement for this entry level role.
  • A degree in Construction Management or a related field is desired.
  • Knowledge of the construction administration process is preferred.
  • Knowledge of contract administration is preferred.
  • Ability to read plans and specifications.
  • Ability to perform quantity takeoffs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to effectively interact at all levels, within and external to the organization.
  • Ability to trouble shoot and problem solve issues as they arise.
  • Exceptional prioritization, organizational, and multitasking skills with demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team to produce highest quality results.
  • Strong focus on detail and skilled in handling diverse tasks with high degree of accuracy and timeliness.
  • Excellent written, mathematical, and grammatical skills, along with a high proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Other programs utilized include, but are not limited to Bluebeam, MS Project, PM Web, and Procore. Knowledge of these programs is a plus.
This position is intended to be full time Monday - Friday.

Compensation will be based on relevant experience.


Pay:
$52, $63,514.31 per year
